Electrical Job Estimate Calculator

Build an electrical job estimate with materials, labor, overhead, contingency, and target profit margin. Start from common electrical jobs or create a detailed quote. Free, no account required.

Sample material prices and labor hours are illustrative only. Replace them with your actual supplier costs, labor rates, and local tax requirements. This tool is not an electrical safety or code compliance assessment.

1. Project setup

No registration

Market selection changes the default currency, not material prices, labor rates or tax. Enter applicable local values yourself.

2. Build your estimate

Choose a common electrical job to prefill editable sample materials and labor.

Hourly rate here is your internal labor cost, not the customer billing rate. Complexity adjusts labor hours only.

3. Pricing and risk

25%

Markup is added to the materials component before applying the margin formula. Margin and markup are different. Discounts reduce the realized margin.

4. Customer quote

Create a customer-facing quote without disclosing your internal costs or profit margin.

How this electrical estimating calculator works

Start with a sample job or add your own materials and labor. The calculator combines direct costs with overhead, contingency, travel and permits, then applies a target margin. A separate material markup can increase the selling-price basis. Customer discounts and taxes are applied afterward.

Example: EV charger installation

The EV charger preset provides editable example materials and labor hours. These are not live prices and should not be used as an automatic quote without checking the site conditions, applicable codes, supplier prices and labor requirements.

Margin versus markup

A 25% target margin is not a 25% markup. To achieve a 25% margin before discounts, divide the billable cost basis by 0.75. For example, a $1,500 cost basis becomes a $2,000 price before discount and tax.
